In an effort to raise funds and awareness, Satellite Lane is proud to announce that we will be hosting a fundraiser benefitting the Theresa Academy of Performing Arts, an organization that gives children with special needs the opportunity to thrive in the arts, all under one roof. Self-described as a "fill in the cracks" organization, TAPA strives "to touch the lives of special needs children through its support of workshops and programs of enrichment and therapy." We are hoping to raise enough money to send a number of children to the TAPA Summer Academy!
We will be raffling off TONS of prizes and baskets in a Chinese-auction style raffle. Some of these prizes include tickets to concerts, TV shows, signed merchandise, family fun activities, and much more! There will also be a 50/50 raffle for all guests that are present.
Click here to see a list of all of the baskets that we'll be raffling off.
NOTE: Aside from the 50/50, you do not have to be present to win a raffle or basket.
The fun doesn't stop with the raffles, though; it's going to be an A CAPPELLA NIGHT! We will be having performances by Chock Full of Notes from Plainview High School, a quintet from Five Towns College in Dix Hills, and Satellite Lane! On top of that, we will also be serving lots of delicious desserts to everyone in attendance.
If you cannot make it to the event, you are welcome and encouraged to visit our Eventbrite page to donate to this great cause!
Any donation is a good one! You can also contact Satellite Lane via our contact form to purchase raffle tickets ahead of time in case cannot make it to the event.
The event will take place from 7-10 PM and will be held at the Bethpage Firehouse:
Bethpage, NY 11714
This event is sure to be a great time for everyone involved! We hope to see you there! Feel free to RSVP by selecting the "RSVP" (free ticket) on our Eventbrite page to reserve a seat at the event!
A $10 donation is suggested at the door; this will go directly into the 50/50 raffle and provide you with two raffle tickets for other baskets.
*Satellite Lane will also be receiving a portion of the proceeds from this event.*
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who has supported us by buying a copy of "Geeky Girl" in its first month! We saw a lot of love coming from people, and it means the world to us. This track is something that we are all really proud of, and we are really excited to record more tunes for you all in the future.
If you haven't picked up a copy, you can check it out on Loudr.fm, iTunes, and Google Play! You can also give the track a listen here at SoundCloud.
At the end of March, we competed in the New York Harmony Sweepstakes Regionals, and we were awarded Audience Favorite for the second year in a row, which was a HUGE honor! We were also given an award for Best Choreography, which really made all of the work we put into it totally worth it. Super props to Christine for writing and teaching all of our awesome moves to us! We had a lot of fun performing at the Sweeps this year, and we also had a lot of fun meeting and hanging out with other groups. We made some new friends and also got to reconnect with some older friends :)
In the beginning of April, we were chosen to perform one of six "acabombs" at the Boston Sings A Cappella Festival in Boston, MA. We had so much fun performing for our a cappella peers at our AcaBob-Omb! We met some AMAZING people that weekend, and the support between groups was such a great thing to experience.
In other merchandising news, we now have T-SHIRTS!! You can purchase your own Satellite Lane shirt from our online store, or snag one from us at an upcoming show.
That's all the news that's fit for posting, for now, but please stay tuned for more awesome a cappella!
